Jaded is a platform created to highlight and celebrate Asian artists within the global music scene. For their SXSW showcase, the goal was to create a visual identity and stage experience that felt as expressive, layered, and culturally nuanced as the artists themselves. The process started with understanding the energy of the lineup. Different genres, different backgrounds, and a shared intention of visibility and representation. The challenge was not to flatten that diversity into a single aesthetic, but to create a visual language that could hold, support, and amplify each artist's performance. We developed a system of motion, typography, and abstract visual elements that responded to rhythm and atmosphere. The visuals were designed to feel fluid and expressive, allowing each performance to carry its own identity while still belonging to a cohesive whole.
From Stage to Screen, a Unified and Immersive Experience
The final experience lived across stage visuals, motion content, and supporting digital assets, creating a unified presence throughout the showcase. Rather than dictating a single look, the system acted as a flexible framework that could adapt to different artists and moods. Visuals shifted with tempo, sound, and tone, reinforcing each performance while maintaining a consistent visual thread across the event. The result was an environment that felt intentional and alive. One that amplified the artists without overshadowing them, and created a space where identity, music, and visual expression could exist together in a natural way.
